Jupiter line astrocartography meaning
What a Jupiter line means in astrocartography on each angle: Jupiter MC growth, Jupiter IC abundance, Jupiter AC trust, Jupiter DC, and in Human Design mode.

A Jupiter line marks where Jupiter was rising, setting, overhead, or underfoot at the moment you were born. Jupiter is the classic "good luck" line: expansion, opportunity, and optimism, wherever it falls. It's often the first line people ask about, and for good reason. More of these placements read as favorable than for almost any other body.
This page covers Jupiter on each of the four angles. For the mechanics of reading any line, orb and angle type, see the hub guide.
Jupiter MC line: doors that open
A Jupiter MC line tends to mark professional growth that comes with less friction than usual: promotions, recognition, and doors that open with less pushing than you're used to. The MC is the public, career-facing angle, and Jupiter there expands exactly that part of life. For opportunity-driven moves it's one of the two or three most sought-after lines on any map.
Jupiter IC line: abundance at home
A Jupiter IC line brings abundance and ease into home life, often literally: more space, more comfort, a sense of plenty. The IC is the private angle of home and roots, and Jupiter working there tends to enlarge the domestic life rather than the public one. A generous line for settling down and raising a family under.
Jupiter AC line: trusted on sight
On the AC, Jupiter reads as an expansive, generous presence. People tend to trust you faster, take you at your word, extend you the benefit of the doubt. The AC is where a planet leads, so Jupiter here changes the first impression itself: bigger, warmer, more optimistic. That earned trust is a real asset, and it's also how overpromising starts.
Jupiter DC line: partnerships that grow you
The DC brings generous, expansive partnerships: relationships that grow you rather than constrain you. The DC brings a planet in through other people, and Jupiter there means the partners, clients, and collaborators a place draws tend to open your world rather than shrink it. One of the most comfortable relationship lines after Venus DC.
How close counts
Jupiter's generosity follows the same orb logic as every line: strongest on the exact line, tapering with distance rather than cutting off. And where Jupiter meets another planet's line in a crossing, both stories blend: Jupiter × Sun compounds the visibility, Jupiter × Neptune inflates the dream. The hub guide covers reading both.
Jupiter in Human Design mode
Switch the map to Human Design and Jupiter is drawn twice. Once from your birth moment (Personality, the conscious side) and once from about 88 days before it (Design, the unconscious side). Two casts means two sets of lines, always: the Earth had turned under the sky between the two moments, so the same planet rises and sets over different ground. Jupiter moves about seven degrees in 88 days, a little more than one gate, so the two Jupiters usually sit in neighboring gates and the two sets carry related but different themes. In Human Design Jupiter is law and protection: the rules you live by and what those rules shelter. That is a quieter reading than "luck", and a more honest one. A Design-side Jupiter line is felt in the body before you have words for it, a place that simply feels safe. A Personality-side Jupiter line shows up as principles you consciously stand on. Same planet, two different volumes.

Jupiter in Human Design mode, one chart, nothing else showing. Solid lines are the Personality cast (birth moment); dashed lines are the Design cast (88 degrees of the Sun earlier). They do not overlap because they are two different moments: the Earth had turned under the sky between them, so the same planet rises and sets over different ground.
The map labels every Human Design line as Design or Personality. Read the label before you read the theme. And hold the doctrine line the Human Design guide holds: your bodygraph does not move when you do. A place amplifies a gate you already carry. It never hands you one you do not.
Your Jupiter is not everyone's Jupiter
Everything above is the general meaning of a Jupiter line. Your own chart tunes it. In astrology, Jupiter's sign says how it goes about its business, its house says where in life it is rooted, and its dignity says how strong its hand is. A Jupiter at home in its own sign carries a line differently from one in detriment. In Human Design the tuning is the gate and the line: which of the 64 gates Jupiter sits in names the specific theme the line carries, and the line number, 1 to 6, says how that theme tends to play out. None of this changes where the line falls on the map. It changes what the line is about.
Two people with a Jupiter MC line through the same city. One has Jupiter in Gate 26, The Egoist: doors open there through persuasion, the pitch, the story well told. The other has Jupiter in Gate 45, The Gatherer: doors open by holding people and resources together under one roof. Both are Jupiter MC. They are not the same kind of opening.
ELA Map reads all of it. Tap any Jupiter line and the panel shows the sign and house behind it; the heatmap reading shows how its dignity weighs in. Switch to Human Design mode and the same line shows its gate, its line number, and whether it came from the Design or the Personality side.
